Have you been avoiding cholesterol? If you do; you are sabotaging your gains- let me tell you why; NO! Let SCIENCE tell you why!

A study lead by Riechman took 25 men and 30 women who filed out food diaries of what they ate and followed them over 12 weeks in conjunction with a resistance training program.

The researchers assessed the relationship between dietary cholesterol and gains in muscle mass. At the end of the study, the average dietary cholesterol intake was strongly associated with the change in lean mass.

What about PROTEIN?

Although dietary protein was correlated with dietary cholesterol, PROTEIN BY ITSELF WAS NOT SIGNIFICANT WITH CHANGE IN LEAN MUSCLE MASS.

The scientists in this research found that cholesterol NOT protein was associated with changes in lean muscle mass!

Cholesterol is basically the foundation of testosterone production and this study has proven that cholesterol is also used by the body to repair muscle damage and also to build bigger muscle mass.

This means that fat free stuff, relying on PROTEIN SHAKES, and taking the Cholesterol free EGG BEATERS that only contain the egg whites and not the YOLK (where the good ol’ cholesterol is) will NOT DO JACKSH*T for your muscle! UNLESS!!

You are on ANABOLIC STEROIDS! Yup, since anabolic steroids will not require you to take in precursors for natural muscle gain- so If you are on gear- GO! Miss out on all the cholesterol you want. With me? No thanks! I will be enjoying my steaks, bacons, oyesters and whole eggs! I love sunny sideup eggs; I use the yolk as a dip for bread.

Go for Cholesterol

And another reason for you NOT to take in extra cholesterol is:

If you are a sedentary SLOB! What is the use of eating extra cholesterol if your body is not undergoing intense training? Your body will only stick those onto your blood vessel linings.

So it is NOT cholesterol that KILLS americans! It is the SEDENTARY life that KILLS americans and other Americanized lazy people who have NO TIME to work out. Rest in peace, people.

Another interesting part of this research is that the people in Statins gained more muscle mass.

That must be because statins are known to produce muscle damage- since we know that muscle damage leads to growth- then taking statins with your training and cholesterol regimen will surely lead to more growth.

But no thanks for now; the Ironthumb method does not require you take statins, just good old intense training scientifically designed for you and research-supported diet and principles like this one.

And I know for a fact that this guy LOVES cholesterol! But he also loves pumping iron AND if doesnt HAVE time or MONEY to pay the gym- he does some handstand pushups and wrestling bridges at home. Take a look at what cholesterol did to this fellow:

about lifting

Not bad is it? I can tell that he didn’t get fat at all, and his blood pressure is 110/80- very very normal.

But if you are receiving Statins as a maintenance drug you MAY be receiving a training advantage but because statins can cause more muscle damage- you may want to cut back a little bit on your training volume.

So more reason to say: EAT YOUR EGGS, people! WHOLE eggs!

  1. You are truly a just right webmaster. The web site loading velocity is amazing. It kind of feels that you’re doing any unique trick. Moreover, The contents are masterwork. you have performed a fantastic job on this subject!

  2. Whoa! This blog looks just like my old one! It’s on a entirely different topic but it has pretty much the same page layout and design. Excellent choice of colors!

  3. Most of the cholesterol is produced by the body. So if you eat more cholesterol, such as through eggs, your body should produce less of it. End result: normal cholesterol, despite eating a lot of it.

    1. yep, that is called the “negative feedback” mechanism. I forgot you are goin to be an MD! No wonder you know that shit. I plan on continuing MD too from being an RN today. My pop has left a lot of lonely patients when he died. Either that or I would just establish my pop’s clinic name and contract doctors (doctors cannot be employed here they are always freelance) to practice there.
I am quite happy for you since if I am not mistaken you’ve just got a few months or a year left am I right?

    1. Up to you
I eat as much as 5 raw whole eggs after workouts
You might want to blast them in the microwave for a few seconds first if you are not used to it though.

The “cholesterol in eggs kill” is hogwash.
They did not consider that cholesterol in eggs are hdls or great for the body.

In fact studies show that people who eat less cholesterol fron “real” foods (not fromn canola) are more at risk for DMs and other degenerative diseases.

if you are an ectomorph I say eat at least 10 extra WHOLE eggs during the day
appart from your regular intake. You can also take whey instead as long as you get your extra protein requirements.
each egg averages at around 6 grams protein you do the math
      good luck

  4. I was suggested this website by my cousin. I’m not sure whether this post is written by him as no one else know such detailed about my problem.
