So how would you KNOW YOUR BODY TYPE?- if you are a naturally thin or a naturally fat person? Figuring this out is important since this would affect how you diet and how you approach fitness (if that is your goal) or if your goal is to shed extra body fats and enter a bodybuilding competition.

So what we have here is some simple ways to tell whether you are naturally thin or naturally fat person.
Basically a person on thin or skinny side would either have a naturally higher metabolic rate, high testosterone level or both-since testosterone can actually help burn fat (on the other hand estrogen helps retain fat).
A naturally fat prone person would tend to have lower testosterone level or a naturally lower metabolism (or then again: BOTH).
Technically knowing what body type you have is not a very complicated matter- in fact most of you would more or less have an idea of where your body type would fall into.
So for those who would not have an idea- here’s a very simple way to determine whether you fall on the first or the former category.
I got this idea since I work for an office right now for a day job.
You see having a job is actually the number one reason why people let go of their body. You see when they were young and free- they would like work out everyday- have time for themselves- have time for their family etc.
Now that they have no time for nothing but their job; the day job would suck the most of their energy that they would be left only enough time for sleep in between work and not enough discipline to insert some simple workouts here and there and this time actually making their “job” as an excuse to avoid feeling guilty of letting their bodies go- claiming that “they don’t have time”.
First of all I know that most of you would also have a job in some sort of an office – since that is what some 80% of the corporate west have and in that case let me just tell you “Don’t make any excuses” like the one above. Those are only excuses and nothing more; the reality is of course “you do have time or there are still ways to achieve fitness despite the fact that your job will take up most of your time.

So given that fact above we could safely assume that n office is where you can find an enormous amount of people who have literally put their bodies under stagnation for a year or more.
And I am not assuming that on my end I can see that as a fact. People let their bodies go and worse is that they are now eating fast-food crap all. You must realize that the body is not designed to live the life that this modern corporate western world wants us to live- like cogs of the interwebs.
Therefore for the 80% of you I assume who are working for corporate Americal;I have a very simple way for you to tell which body type you possess.
This is the reason why I just go around the office and I am able to tell who among these people are gifted with high metabolism and who aren’t let me share it with you:
So you if you are in some kind of a corporate job you probably have not touched the weights for a very long time or if not presently (since you are now reading About lifting and beginning to change your life and taking control of your body) at least at one point in time.
If yes- have you noticed whether you are getting fat or if you are getting skinnier and skinnier?
If you are getting skinnier and skinnier in your corporate life-
Despite your lack of exercise
Despite probably being able to eat more junk nowadays
Then it is safe to say that you have a pretty fast metabolism and/or a naturally higher testosterone.
Are the types who I would tend to ask about reading About lifting and would tell me that “I don’t have time to go to the gym, in fact I haven’t been able to touch any weights since high school” yet there is very little to no sign of fat in them. And the lucky ones who have naturally high testosterone level would even show a little bit of musculature in their form. They just don’t have any idea how they are just letting their genetics go to waste.
The good news is that things are a little bit easier for you- you can basically eat whatever you want and in fact that is EXACTLY what you must do in order to build muscle. But that is still not an excuse to go eat more fast-food. Home cooked meals are still better at putting nutrition into your starving muscles.
But the bad news is that this won’t last forever; before you know it- you would lose all the natural testosterone and metabolism that you have because with age.Follow @AboutLifting
So the best thing to do right now is to immediately start on lifting weights NOW while it is still early- therefore making the aging process slower.
For the people who are on the other end of the spectrum (which is basically the majority) – if you have noticed that you have gotten fatter on your job then chances are you don’t have the same naturally high metabolism or testosterone level that the former group of people we discussed above has. Or you might have already ruined your natural genetics with chronic corporate lifestyle (with lots of fast food).
The good news for these people is that they are certainly at the right place at the right time.
