Start to Appreciate the Power of a Good Night’s SleepFollow @AboutLifting
Usually, after we get a job, we realize that the most important thing that keeps us going and ensures a good mood is not another late night episode, but a restful sleep.Follow @AboutLifting
8 hours of sleep are the norm if you’re looking to get up refreshed, instead of tired. Hitting the snooze button over and over again is not only a bad habit, but it means that your body hasn’t fully recovered after the day before, so get to bed early.
Define Your Priorities and See How to Accomplish Them
Think about how old you are, what you have accomplished till now and what your future goals are.
Put them on paper and then see how long it will take to save enough money for a home, or buy a car, for example. Visual aids are a great way to put things into perspective, so start doing the math and see what you can do to obtain what you want.
Always Stick to Your Morning Routine
Just like your 8 hours of sleep should be sacred, so should your morning routine. Starting the day on the right foot can’t be done if you don’t have time to wake up gradually with a cup of coffee, or take a nice shower.
Set your alarm clock half an hour earlier and prepare for the day to come without panicking about the pressing time.
Invest in a Home Gym, so You’ll Save Money and Time
Working out, especially in the mornings, will ensure that you’ll have a positive state of mind, partly due to accomplishing your training routine, and partly because your body release endorphins, the “happy” hormone.
Not everybody has the time to go to the gym, not to mention that it’s also expensive. Invest in your health and install a cardio machine in your home. It’s the best way to keep your heart and body healthy while saving time and money.
Implement a Reward System for Yourself
We usually forget to take the time to celebrate the things that go well in our life. Unfortunately, this will shift our focus on the things that went wrong and make it seem that the good ones don’t matter.
Each time you accomplish something, such as a difficult task at work, dealing with some personal problems, or even working long hours, reward yourself with an ice-cream, a bubble bath or a movie night with your friends.
Disconnect from the Internet and Begin Discovering Yourself
We’re all spending way too much time staring at the cell phone, tablet or computer screens, so take a break from all of that.
Instead of getting home and turning on the laptop, make yourself a cup of tea and read a book. Take an interest in a hobby like art, drama or fashion. Find the things you love to do and enjoy them!
Volunteer at a Shelter or for an Environmental Organization
If you’ve decided to improve your life, why not change other’s as well? Volunteering can take many shapes, so according to what you’re good at, you can also improve the lives of other’s.
If you care for the planet, then plant trees, if you’re into marketing, lend a hand to an association that doesn’t have the funds to hire a specialist. Pick a volunteering activity and go for it!
Learn to Say “No” When Things Don’t Feel Right
This is one of the hardest things to do. Learning to refuse people when they ask you for help, or want something for you takes time.
The secret is not only to say “no”, but also to not feel any remorse after you do it. Still, in time, you’ll realize that sometimes you have to put yourself first and if you feel that you shouldn’t do something, listen to your instinct and refuse graciously.
Take Some Time off Just for Yourself
Everybody is entitled to some time off for themselves. Whether you want to take a walk in the park or simply stay in your pajamas and watch movies, that’s your option.
Respect yourself enough to know that regardless of other people’s plans, it’s okay to simply chill without doing anything at all. Lying around doesn’t mean you’re lazy, but that you’ve earned the right to have a day to yourself.
If you want to improve your life, you should know that this can’t be done if you don’t also make some changes. The sooner you start, the faster you’ll get to where you want to be, so change your life starting today!
