About Lifting to Increase Testosterone Levels

We all know the benefits about lifting weights. We know pretty well that lifting will improve your tendon strength and will of course, build muscle and increase overall wellness.

But some researches also suggests that lifting and weight training(resistance training) might also increase testosterone levels:

A team of Canadian researchers led by Dr. Mark Tremblay measured the response of endurance, weight trained,and sedentary men to endurance exercise or weight training. Subjects who trained by lifting weights indicated higher hormone responses than endurance-trained subjects, particularly during weight training. (J-Appl Physiol, 96:531-539,2004)

Therefore as we all know that lifting and resistance training increases hormonal response and in time it will increase your capacity to build muscle. The body naturally responds to weight training and detects that it needs to increase it’s capacity to build muscle: which is to increase testosterone levels while training.

To capitalize upon this info however, one must regularly include the basic moves: Squats, Deadlifts, and Bench presses into his routine as these exercises are well known to affect blood hormone levels the most. That is why in our Basic training regimen we have included these moves at the beginning of each body part session that they correspond: that is to give one an initial boost of hormonal levels which should last as the workout progresses and help achieve better Ironthumb-caliber results.

Note: that is not to mention that building muscle is not the only benefits of testosterone;  we know that higher testosterone levels are linked to lower rates of Alzheimer’s, obesity, and many more.

By the way; before you think about using Pharmaceutical Hormones. Bear in mind that you can always increase your testosterone level by means of lifestyle modification.

  1. BOTH! Basically as an older guy – the more you need to lift since your health is failing by then and you need to do everything in your power to increase your well being.
    Note: older men can actually ask for HRT from their doctors.
